Yes they are rare events, but there are definitely times when one does very little yet one receives so much more credit and praise than deserved. So I guess overall it evens out between the lack of and excess of recognition. Plus you can't predict which way things will go, all you can do is your best. But overall, I agree that anyone who has anything worthwhile deserves it because they had to fight and work hard to get it:-) But don’t forget the times when everything goes well.
